Meet the Library: one encrypted home for everything you protect
Your documents, notes, recordings, and notebooks now live in one place: the Library. This is the biggest update we've ever shipped: a ground-up rework of how you store, write, organize, and share everything you protect.
One Library for everything
• Browse everything in one view, or filter by Documents, Notes, Recordings, Notebooks, and Folders, from the page or straight from the sidebar.
• Switch between card and tree views, filter by tag, and expand items in place: notes and entries open right in the list, documents preview inline (including PDFs), and recordings play without leaving the page.
• Global search (⌘K) now covers your whole Library (including notebooks and folders), fast, server-powered, and matching the real names of your items.
A real writing experience
• Notes and notebook entries get a rich text editor (headings, lists, tasks, links, and formatting you can see) with a one-click toggle to raw Markdown. Under the hood your writing is still stored as portable Markdown, encrypted at rest.
• Autosave while you write, and if you open a new entry and change your mind, leaving without typing creates nothing.
• Insert images, video, and audio directly into notes and entries, or attach existing documents and recordings from your Library.
Notebooks are journals
• A notebook opens with the composer up top. Start today's entry in one click.
• Share a notebook with a public link (short URL, on/off, regenerate anytime) or instantly by email, and see and revoke every share from the notebook page.
• Recipients get a beautiful journal view: searchable entries with inline photos, video thumbnails, and ready-to-play audio.
Folders, done right
• Folders are for storing: move documents, notes, recordings, and whole notebooks into them. No clutter, no ceremony.
• Attach one folder to a deadman switch and everything inside it is delivered, including nested notebooks and their entries.
• Deleting a folder never deletes what's inside; contents return to your Library. Deleting a notebook removes it and its entries, with a clear confirmation first.
Deadman switches, connected
• The switch builder now picks from your Library with search and type filters, the same fast picker everywhere you add items.
• Switch Health verifies your Library-backed shares from start to finish.
A faster dashboard
• Continue where you left off: your most recent items, one tap away.
• Quick-action tiles, slimmer storage and planning bars, and a compact switch card with Check-In front and center.
Better on your phone
Most of you use Killswitch from your phone, so this release was built for it: readable lists with actions that work on touch, a focused distraction-free editor, and every core screen verified at phone width.
